Located in downtown San Francisco is the city's largest art gallery, the John Pence Gallery. The gallery specializes in art work from the 19th and 20th centuries. Visually interesting, art lovers can explore works of contemporary painters, sculpture and works of American masters. Works of artists such as George Henry Boughton, Ferdinand Kaufmann, Walter Launt Palmer, Joseph Stella and Robert Brackman graces its premises. Apart from holding exhibitions, the gallery also calls best artists from the country to join communities and hold joint exhibitions such as 'Bay Area Realists' and 'Water Street Atelier'. Art enthusiasts are welcome and encouraged to express their opinions and voice queries in the intellectually stimulating discussions on art.
