Built in 1879 by Duane Bliss, it was the largest home in Carson City at the time. Nevada's first telephone lines ran from his place of business in Glenbrook to the mansion. The family also had a railroad spur on the north side of the residence to accommodate their own railroad car. The house was remodeled in 1994 and retains the character of the original. Breakfast is served in the main dining room at a 15-foot handcrafted table on a Carrara marble floor. The ceiling boasts two Sevres chandeliers and a hand-painted angel nestled in clouds.
