A member of the New Zealand Lodge Association, Braemar is a truly authentic mountain lodge, from the exposed wooden beams to the stone fireplace and smoke rising from its chimney. It was originally built as a hunting lodge in 1985 using both Canadian cedar and native timbers. Braemar Lodge sits on a plateau above the high country basin of Hanmer Springs and is beautifully illuminated at night.
