The classic Eggers hotel is on a square by the Central Station. It is one of the oldest hotels in Gothenburg, and also one of the most luxurious. The interiors are somewhat heavy and old-fashioned, but also more genuine than those of the luxurious Radisson SAS Scandinavia across the street. Even if you are not traveling by train, the location is very attractive, especially close to shopping center Nordstan and all the shops along Fredsgatan. Trams 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 all go to Centralstationen.
