A converted castle dating back to the Middle Ages, Gästehaus Dottendorf is one of the most amazing hotels in the region. The rooms boast high stucco ceilings, parquet floors and modern facilities. The hotel restaurant serves top-class international dishes. Charlemagne (Holy Roman Emperor and King of the Franks) is alleged to have stayed here in the 8th century; while historians cannot be 100% sure about this, the octagonal tower and castle vaults certainly date back that far.
