The Hotel Atalaya is located in Mundaka on the Vizcaya coast, one of the province's most beautiful spots due to the presence of the Urdaibi estuary, which was declared a protected biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Furthermore, it is only twenty minutes from Bilbao and close to Gernika. Mundaka has a beach where, according to surfing experts, the best left waves in the world break. The Atalaya occupies a marvellous turn of the XX century building and opened as a hotel in the late 80's. The service, in common with most small hotels, is exceptional, and in this case is very good and friendly. The rooms are small but stylishly decorated. Above all, for those after a weekend break, the views of the sea in the setting of this small and friendly fishing village are priceless.
