As you walk on the path through a primeval forest towards the entrance to Bangakuro, it is difficult to believe that you are still in the heart of the famed Hakone resort. Bangakuro is a traditional Japanese inn, adjacent to an ancient wood on one side, with vistas of bright gardens on the other. The inn itself is a wooden, two-story structure with a picturesque thatched roof. The hot-spring men's and women's baths, all indoors, are made of fragrant cypress and cedar. Excellent meals are served in-room.
