Hedgefield House is a gay-friendly hotel situated ten minutes drive from Newcastle's city centre and close to the border of the beautiful Northumbria countryside. A good looking Georgian mansion, it was built in 1820 and stands in three acres of wooded gardens. Alexander Graham Bell is reputed to have made his first ever telephone call from the drawing room. There is a restaurant which can cater for vegetarian diets, while breakfast and evening meals can be taken in your room or the dining room. Residents receive free admission to a new health club, The Blue Corner.
