Unusual name for an unusual place. Tucked away in the woods, Urwald Cafe is not easily noticeable from the main road. Among the latest batch of nightspots in Pantai Tengah, the place has yet to open on a regular basis, but that will change when the peak season starts. The owner, Charles Funk, the guy with the ponytail who hails from Sarawak, has got it all planned to bring in the crowd, good and cheap food, jamming sessions, themed happy hours and Borneo cultural shows. The decor is very simple yet elegant with a touch of reality. Serves great tasting Asian delights, as well as Western cuisine. Some of the specialties include the omelette, onion soup, black pepper steak, lamb chops and beef burgers. A variety of alcohol is available as well.
