Designed for the serious smoker and drinker, this is a serious drinking and smoking den. Asir is a basement venue on the fringes of Beyoglu, bordering some of the rougher neighborhoods. This place is more famous for its appetizers than its music. One of the best mezes is Topik - a delicious Armenian-style purée of white chicken meat, ground chickpeas, cinnamon, currants and spices. Another favorite on the menu is the spicy Ezme, a popular dish of finely chopped juicy tomatoes, red hot peppers, onions and walnuts.
