Tucked away in the east of Singapore, 30 minutes from the bustling city center, a cosy collection of beach side restaurants, idyllic lounges and open air food centers reside. Arrive at about six in the evening, ready to do battle with the fresh affordable seafood at the open air food centers for authentic Asian fare. Chinese, Malay, Indian and European cuisine are all on display at great prices. While tucking into your dinner, enjoy the view across the straits to see the kelongs (wooden houses built on stilts in water with fish traps attached below) of Malaysia and the lights along the coastline. After dinner, lie back in your low chair with a cool coconut among the palm trees at the beach lounges. With the Changi Airport only 15 minutes away, this is the place to end a memorable Singapore Trip.
