When you exit the subway, walk up the steps towards Urbanstraße and then turn left and walk until you hit an expanse of trees. Take the dirt path to your left through the woods alongside a side arm of the Isar, Munich’s river, and soak up the ambiance of Munich’s huge nature oasis. On your left you’ll see a sign “zum Flaucher and you can follow the arrows about ten minutes long to reach the hidden beer oasis in the middle of the woods. An eclectic mix of teenage grillers, families spending the day swimming and splashing in the refreshing Isar waters and nude sunbathers enjoying one of Munich’s largest 'FKK' areas, the Flaucher offers a telling view into the life of the average Münchner. After your stroll, turn left and left again and follow the signs to zum Flaucher for a refreshing Mass of beer and an insider glimpse at another key part of munich city life, often complete with traditional Bavarian Blasmusik. - Emily Flechtner
