This weekday-only restaurant is part of a valiant attempt to clean up an infamous part of town. And if the crowds here are any indication, the attempt will be successful. It's located near Skid Row (but a secure parking lot should alleviate any fears of visiting) and serves excellent California cuisine. It's a favorite hangout of artists as well as the downtown corporate lunch crowd. The chicken salads, fresh fruit and turkey sandwiches are all good, and there's a modest dessert menu as well.
