In Alto de Begoña, one of the best locations of the Vizcayan capital, this restaurant has sprung up to prepare delicacies for visitors and locals alike. The restuarant was previously called Lasa, and had one of the best reputations in Bilbao. It was a classic. Today the Artagan restaurant has the same ambition and is doing much to earn it. To get to the restaurant you can get the elevator at the Mellona exit in Casco Viejo. You can also get a bus that goes up to the Alto de Begoña from outside the Bilbao town hall (Ayunatamiento). It is an ideal place for family get-togethers and also business meetings. In this restaurant, tradition becomes an art. The specialities are all types of grilled fish and meat.
