This spirited Midtown roadhouse is supported by a largely gay clientèle, but welcomes all for some of the best prairie fare this side of the Rio Grande. Offering perfectly-rendered steaks, chops, ribs, chicken and barbecue, Cowtippers has garnered consistent awards since opening in 1993. Eclectic art and western artifacts adorn the walls of the rambling, 60-year-old building, while a Texas-sized patio tempts guests to park their plates outside. Be sure to sample the "Rita" menu, a listing of the bar's enormous and enormously-popular margarita concoctions.
