This is the longest established recognized gay pub in Newcastle, and its presence may well be the reason why the so-called ‘pink triangle’ has come to be where it is (not far from the Central Railway Station, near the International Centre for Life). It is known locally as ‘the Graveyard’, possibly because it tends to attract the older gay crowd who still have a fondness for mustaches and leather jackets. Drag shows are frequently staged on weekday evenings (most often Mondays). The pub is also well renowned for serving a good pint of ale.
