In 1977, a group of painters decided to exhibit their works in Plaça de Sant Josep, next door to Plaça del Pi, in order to reach a larger audience without having to go through the costly and exclusive world of art galleries. The tradition has continued, and nowadays about 50 painters and two sculptors regularly exhibit and sell their works in the square every Sunday morning. The majority of the paintings are figurative, and you can pick up original works of art at very reasonable prices.
