The Caribbean wouldn't be the same without its local public markets. Every island has one. Antigua's is a hodge-podge of goods and goodies, fruits and vegetables, and all manner of cheap merchandise. Fridays and Saturdays, the market gets packed with more vendors and many, many more customers. Come early for the best selection. Bring a shopping bag and plan to haggle. The garden-fresh local vegetables are excellent. The market is conveniently located next to the public bus station.
