Like any large city, there's a plethora of taxi companies in Belfast. If you're around the city centre, there are two ranks of Black Taxis in Donegall Square North and Donegall Square East around the City Hall. Many of these cabs are disabled-friendly. If you're around the university area enjoying the wide range of night-life, Fon A Cab and City Cab depots are a few minutes walk away. You can choose to wait at the depot or to ring the number from where you are. There are also communal black taxi services. From Bridge Street, Newtownabbey and the Shore Road areas are covered by black taxis which offer competitive prices compared to the bus services. Expect to share a small cab with five others, (no seat-belts are worn!) From Castle Street you can also have a similarly cheap (and squashed) taxi experience to the Falls Road area. These taxis serve Protestant and Catholic areas exclusively - Bridge Street for Protestant areas and Castle Street for Catholic areas.
