Description:
The International Airport of the City of Mexico, six kilometres to the east of the city, is a gateway for all international flights. Two runways launch some 50 million passengers onto their destinations annually. The main terminal has moving walkways to ease pedestrian traffic, national and international terminals, mezzanine, boarding gates and 13 conveyor belts for baggage claim. The national terminal for domestic flights is comprised of Salas (Halls) A,B,C and D while Salas E and F are for international arrivals and departures. Ground transportation:
Travel time from the city's hotels to the airport runs 30 minutes to one hour. Taxis are available with fixed rates of $70 to $200. Subway Line 5 is affordable at $1.50 and is a good option for those travelling light (one carry-on bag).
