Ferry boats are the only way to get between St. Thomas and St. John for either a day trip or extended stay. They depart at 6:30a and then on the hour until midnight at Red Hook, St. Thomas for the 20-minute trip to Cruz Bay, St. John. Return trips are also on the hour. The 45-minute trip from the Charlotte Amalie Waterfront to Cruz Bay, St. John operates on a less frequent schedule. No credit cards are accepted; call ahead for fare charges.
