The Puerto Vallarta Port is conveniently located between Marina Vallarta and the northern hotel area of town. Downtown can easily be reached by taxi in about ten minutes. Upon arrival, most cruise companies have vans to transport guests for a city tour. Taxis are also available when ships arrive. If staying in the city and using the port as a first port of entry into Mexico, customs must be passed. If only visiting for a few hours, immigration is fast tracked. The port itself offers no services for tourists, but shopping and restaurants are just a few minutes away.
