Cozumel has two main areas for cruise ships. The International Dock is located ten minutes south of San Miguel. You must pass through a large craft market, Puerto Maya, to get outside. If you don’t have time to shop at the downtown markets, you will find some good bargains here. A taxi to San Miguel should cost abut USD5-6; however drivers are notorious for overcharging so be sure to fix the price before getting into the cab. You can also walk ten minutes north to La Ceiba Hotel and hail a cheaper cab from there.
