Located in the Malaz area, the Riyadh railway station provides a list of services to the travellers. Apart from the regular ticket and booking counters and automatic teller machines, you will also find a limousine stand, a restaurant, a place for prayers, a private car park, a newspaper stand and also a gift shop. The Kingdom's railways, an independent public utility service, runs from Riyadh to Dammam in the eastern region and passes through Dhahran, Abqaiq, Hofuf, Harad and Al-Kharj. There are passenger trains running from Dammam to Riyadh daily. In 1985, an additional line joining Hofuf with Riyadh was opened.
