The easiest place to change money in Berlin is at a bank or at one of the foreign exchange counters at stations and airports. There are also several foreign exchange centres (Wechselstuben) around Zoo Station and Kurfürstendamm. Some Post Offices also have facilities to change money. All will accept travellers cheques. Banks charge a minimum commission. Exchange rates are similar at all banks, making shopping around fairly superfluous unless you are changing very large amount. Beware when there is no commission charge, as the rate of exchange may not be as good as elsewhere. Post offices have exchange counters in larger branches. Commission is charged at a flat-rate. Exchange rates are similar to banks. Credit cards such as Visa or Mastercard can be used to draw money at all major banks. ATMs (cash machines) are plentiful throughout Berlin ? in the foyer of virtually every bank ? and represent the easiest method of getting your hands on some local currency. Virtually all ATMs accept major credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club. Charges and exchange rates are set by your credit card. Bank cards. If your bank is part of the Cirrus, Maestro or Plus networks (look on the back of your card), you will be able to withdraw cash straight out of your home account from an ATM in Berlin. Charges and exchange rates are set by your home bank.
