Officially opened in October 1924, this hospital moved to its present premises in 1997. Known affectionately as ‘KK’, this institution has seen to the birth of more than a third of the island’s population, one of whom was Asia’s first test-tube baby, delivered in 1983. Today, it serves a pediatric function as well, and is responsible for teaching future doctors and nurses specializing in health care for women, children and babies.
