This popular Greenville Avenue hot spot is a great place to get some no-frills, fresh seafood in a relaxed atmosphere. Scarf down a dozen raw oysters before taking in a movie at the Granada Theater across the street or grab several dozen for take-out. Aw Shucks is reminiscent of the good-old days as it still relies on the honor system for payment. On your way out, tell the cashier how much you ate and they'll tally your bill. The front room is small but most people eat outside or get take out so the steady stream of patrons usually doesn't get unmanageable. Do not let the name fool you as raw oysters are not the only thing on the menu. Peel-and-eat shrimp and crab legs are favorites, but there are plenty of other grilled and fried seafood offerings. Make your cocktail sauce according to your taste at the self-serve condiment bar, a dash of horseradish can really spice it up.
