Caro's Mexican Food, a family owned restaurant, has been serving Fort Worth residents since the 1940s. Owner Lou Caro Whitten boasts that his recipes, which have been handed down from generations are as old as the Aztecs. At the front, an ornate carved wood entrance door extends a warm welcome to all visitors. Mexican breakfast is a big hit here and is in demand all day long; try the chorizo sausage and eggs or migas (scrambled eggs, tortilla chips, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers and jalapenos). Specialty dinner entrees include the Mexican spaghetti (made from fideo noodles), complete with a rich, spicy sauce of tomatoes, green peppers and pork and the arroz con pollo, a half chicken liberally seasoned with Mexican spices.
