A phrase like upscale Tex-Mex may seem like an oxymoron, but one of Dallas' more successful restaurateurs, Gene Street, produced another interesting dining concept in this upscale Tex-Mex restaurant. The decor is art deco/Southwestern with a dash of Spanish mission. Specialties include the Botanas Platter pork-filled tacos al pastor and grilled shrimp, and Chicken Tampico, grilled breast with artichoke hearts, mushrooms, spinach, sour cream sauce and melted jack cheese. The fully-stocked bar offers beer, mixed drinks and wine, and caters to trendy singles as well as affluent retirees.
