Won't be our only visit...
We went on a cloudy and slightly rainy day in Yokohama. It was overcast at about 6 p.m. when we arrived at the restaurant. Because of the weather, the Yamate Bluff area was essentially vacant, except for the occasional owner walking their dog. There was only one other couple in the restaurant, which ensured that we got outstanding service and it was quiet. The weather didn't dampen our mood, as the room was well lit and clean, and the food was just great. I ate the Yamate Bluff Set (Â¥10,000), while my wife ate the Chef's Recommended Course (Â¥8,000) and had a glass of wine (Â¥650). The meals included several fruit highlights, and each item was prepared to perfection. Full disclosure: We infrequently eat French. Still, this was a cut above what we've had in the past, and each course was distinctly unique compared to any French food we've eaten in the past. Although our bellies were full, the meal left us feeling fresh, without the upset stomach that sometimes accompanies rich French meals. We plan to return again during a different season and see how the chef uses different ingredients to represent that season. Highly recommended!

Amazing French Food!
The location might be off setting to some, but to those who value history this will be a treat. On "The Bluff" of the Motomachi district in Yokohama this Victorian house looks over the whole of the city, but also a graveyard. While maybe off setting one should mind that these are foreigners graves of the people who set up the distinctly different flavors here (and one of the set menus was even found in an old book discovered not so far from the establishment). So it adds to the pride of the restaurant.
