Situated directly opposite the Theresienwiese (venue for the Oktoberfest), this bar offers a less expensive (and better) alternative to the overpriced meals in the festival marquee. It's worth coming here at any time of year, and not just during the festival, for a taste of the fine Bavarian and Italian cuisine. The chestnut tree-filled beer garden seems like a green oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle. Pizzas are available from EUR 4, and snacks such as garlic bread from EUR 2. The spare ribs at an unbeatable EUR 5.50 are highly recommended. The service is good and the beer even better.
